“Can I still collect my WC benefits if I’m laid off or my company closes?”

The general answer is yes. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, if an injured employee who is currently receiving Workers’ Compensation benefits is laid off or the company closes, this does not affect the worker’s right to continue receiving these benefits.
In addition, if you are working modified duty due to an accepted work injury and you are either laid off or your company closes, you may be entitled to immediately be reinstated to full workers’ compensation benefits from the time you lost your job through no fault of your own.
